Scale Art Parts is our exclusive line of 1:20.3  and 1:48 fine-scale cast resin parts for the discriminating hobbyist, scratch-builder and detailer. Check out the catalog of parts, we’re certain you’ll find a thing or two that will help you to build that special project!

SAMS, (Scale Art Model Services), is dedicated to the fine art of model making. Specializing in Railroad models and layouts; we also build museum and commercial displays, architectural models and Garden Railways.

A brief glimpse of the station sign is all we get as a freight rumbles across the West Duluth trestle.

Work continues on our big O Scale project. About 2/3 of the bench work has been installed and much of the track on this portion is down and wired. One thing about a layout this size; (fills a 100’ X 60’ purpose-built building): There is a lot of everything to do. Drop a few track feeders? Drop 1000’s! Join a few pieces of flex track-join 1000’s. It is hobby time fun a thousand times over!. We are making progress, however, expecting to have trains running over the entire layout next spring. I have posted a whole bunch of new pictures as well as an updated track plan. Check the current project pages for the latest from Lincoln.

In response to requests, some different headwear has been sculpted to fit “Sanders” specifically; we have found, however, that the hats will also fit “Cousin Jack” with a little special fitting. We have not yet tried, but with some head surgery our hats should fit other makers’ figures also.

wp4d4cb110_0f.jpg Look under Detail Parts to find the set of hats.

We will be offering our figures hand painted on Ebay very soon. Our painter has been working diligently to finish some pieces; so far the results are very encouraging. We think this will be a great addition to our line. We also are listing one “mini-scene that incorporates a figure & oil drum mounted on a little finished base. If this proves popular we will work out more scenes. Look for our figures under:

We are putting the finishing touches on several new sets: pieces to make up the interior of a Diner or other eatery. Photos are now being shot and instructions composed. Look for these very soon, they are pretty neat!

My final announcement is to watch us for a 1:20.3 scale pickup truck kit. It is a co-operative project between Joe Crea and Scott. The truck is entirely built from scratch to F scale proportions and has become a labor of love. Test casts of the bed and most of the detail parts have been made. Scott is finalizing the cab pattern. This is our most complicated mold/casting effort to date and we want to get it right, so we are taking our time. We plan to have it in the catalog early in 2010.

First Look!  A few quick photos of the in progress truck have been posted for the curious.
